Year 3 and 4
Welcome to the Year 3 and 4 area of the school's website. Hopefully you will find everything that you need to support your child this year here. If not, please ask one of the teachers and we will try to add it. If you scroll down you will find the areas of learning that the children have been focusing on this week.
Year 3 and 4 is a world full of exciting and challenging opportunities where children flourish with their learning. In addition to supporting Year 3 children through the transition from Key Stage One to Key Stage Two, we work on encouraging the children to become more independent while enjoying a wide range of new and exciting learning opportunities.
We believe in making learning fun and engaging for everyone and encourage the children to work together in an active environment across all areas of the curriculum.
Topics we cover include:
- Victorians - Looking at the Victorian era, William Morris' artwork, how the Victorians celebrated Christmas. There will be a special focus on how Heathfield changed during the Victorian times.
- Alive and Kicking - Comparing regions of the UK with Spain.
- Way, Way Back (1) - Looking at the ancient peoples of Britain and in particular the Stone Age.
- Way, Way Back (2) - Looking at Ancient Egypt
Our Weekly Updates
During the closure, the children can keep in touch with each other using the Blog area of Purple Mash. Each class has their own Blog. Click on the 'Sharing' tab across the top and then the 'Shared Blogs' tab to find the class blogs.
Keep in touch.
