Please visit the weekly overview page to see what we learnt last week.
Welcome to the Year 3 and 4 area of the school's website. Hopefully you will find everything that you need to support your child this year here. If not, please ask one of the teachers and we will try to add it. If you scroll down you will find the areas of learning that the children have been focusing on this week.
Year 3 and 4 is a world full of exciting and challenging opportunities where children flourish with their learning. In addition to supporting Year 3 children through the transition from Key Stage One to Key Stage Two, we work on encouraging the children to become more independent while enjoying a wide range of new and exciting learning opportunities.
We believe in making learning fun and engaging for everyone and encourage the children to work together in an active environment across all areas of the curriculum.
Topics we cover include:
Ruthless Romans - Looking at the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire focusing on the impact on Great Britain and their legacy.
Magnificent Mayans - Looking at Mayan civilisation in South America with a focus on Chichen Itza
Saxons and Vikings - Looking at life in England during this time and how society changed
Amazon Adventure - Looking at life in the Amazon rainforest and ways that people are trying to protect it.
See the list below for the days that each class does PE.
Please make sure that the children have the correct PE kit with either plimsolls or sensible trainers. Every PE kit will go home on the Friday to be washed and come back to school on the Monday.
Home Learning and Spellings
A home learning sheet and weekly reading record sheet will be handed out on the Friday and expected to be returned on the following Friday. Also, weekly spellings will be given out on the Friday to be practised at home. The spellings will not need to be handed back in.
